The National Glass Centre is a cultural venue located in Sunderland, North East England. This center is also part of the University of Sunderland and considered one of the top attractions within the area. The National Glass Centre is originally constructed out of glass and steel. Visitors can walk on its strong glass roof while looking at the center below. The National Glass Centre is dedicated to showcasing the history of glass making with glass exhibitions and demonstrations. Since August 2006, the center dropped its admission fee and since the admission removal, there is a high increase in tourists. Next to this historic castle is the Tynemouth Priory and Castle, which has an overlooking view of Tynemouth Pier. This castle played a vital role during World War II when this was used as a defense ground to cover the mouth of Tyne River.
