Neal S. Blaisdell Center, Honolulu, Hawaii, United States of America
The Neal S. Blaisdell Center is a multi-purpose complex in Honolulu, Hawaii, made up of multiple spaces for hosting sporting events, conferences, musical performances, and the like. At its centerpiece is an impressive arena that has hosted many concerts and TV events, and might be familiar to fans of the NBA Los Angeles Lakers as the frequent venue of their pre-season basketball games. The complex also has a gallery and an exhibition hall that frequently displays works from local artists, and the Waikiki Shell, a distinctive shell-shaped outdoor stage that is often used for music festivals.
The Neal S. Blaisdell Center itself is impressively huge, and a fixture of downtown Honolulu. As a major venue, people from all over the island flock to the Center to catch events, including from nearby cities Sandy Island. Visitors from out-of-town, thankfully, are spoiled for choice when it comes to accommodations. The Paniolo at the Equus has bright, airy rooms and is full of Pacific charm with its interior covered with multi-colored murals. There is also the Prince Waikiki, a towering building with a commanding view of the marina and replete with a rooftop infinity pool for enjoying sunsets. For those who want only the best, however, nothing beats a stay at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, with options for multi-level suites and private dining options available. Of course, a visit to Honolulu won’t be complete without a visit to the famous Sandy Beach with its calm waters and a long coastline. The Ala Wai Yacht Harbor is also a great place to spend an afternoon catching the last of the sunlight while watching boats go in and out of the harbor.
