Jacksons International Airport – POM Port Moresby
The Jacksons International Airport is known as the largest and busiest airport in Papua New Guinea. It is a major public airport that is located in Saraga, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea and serves the Port Moresby area. Its airport code, POM, stands for Papua New Guinea’s capital and largest city’s name Port Moresby. During 2nd World War, the airport site was used as an airfield. In 1959, the current terminal was built and the taxiway in 1963. The management and operation of the airport is done by National Airports Corporation of New Guinea. As of 2015, the airport has handled up to 1.4 million passengers.

The POM-Jacksons International Airport consists of two terminals, the Domestic Terminals which Air Niugini and PNG Air housed, and the International Terminal that serves all other airlines including the international routes of Air Nuigini and PNG Air. A multiple airport system is deployed in the airport by ARINC, an American-based company. One of them is VeriPax. It can read boarding pass in very short span. Some of the best cities to go from Jacksons International Airport include Boroko, and Port Moresby.
