Rionegro is a city as well as a municipality of the country Colombia. Its official name is “Ciudad Santiage de Arma de Rionegro” Rionogre. The city’s name Rionegro means “Black River”. The city earns its name for the very reason that rivers in the city look black because of the shadows of the trees that surrounds them.
