Sabaudia: The Perfect Coastal Paradise in Italy
Situated around 1.5 hours from the southern section of Rome, Sabaudia, Italy, is a beachfront town under the rule of the Latina province. The town stands on the Pontine Marshes’ reclaimed marshland, which was drained, following the order from the previous Italian Prime Minister, Benito Mussolini. Today, Sabaudia is home to several hotels and resorts dotting its coastal areas.
Best Time to Visit
Every year in July, the neighboring town of Terracina, which is located 20 minutes away from Sabaudia, celebrates the Festival of the Sea. The event’s main highlight is the procession from the town’s port to Circeo aboard a boat with the Virgin Mary “Madonna.” You can also attend the fish and seafood festival held on the same day, too. Sabaudia is in the middle of the summer by this time of year, so tourism is at its peak. That meant more expensive airfare and room rates at most of Sabaudia, Italy hotels.
