Shelby: Sweet Town Right off the Rocky Mountain Front
Named after General Manager of the Montana Central Railway, Peter O. Shelby, Shelby, MN is a simple little town right off the Rocky Mountain Front, which is also known for hosting a dog camp called Camp Collie, which became hit on national news. The town was also where the legendary heavyweight boxing match for a world championship title of Jack Dempsey and Tommy Gibbons took place on the 4th of July, 1923. With these feats, Shelby, Montana remains a small-populated area with only 3,375 residents as of the 2010 census. When visiting the town, the closest major airport is the Great Falls International Airport.

Early summer to early fall (June-September) is the best period to visit Shelby, Montana. The weather is comfortable, although June, July, and August are crowded and accommodation prices are high then.
