Sommieres: An Exhilarating Summer in Sommieres
Under the Gard department in the southern part of the country is the attractive town of Sommieres, France. It is a short drive from coastal cities: Montpellier and Nimes and the vineyard town of Vaunage. The river Vidourle runs through it and was once a fortress town that protected the area from invaders. Although the town has a gorgeous scenery, it is prone to flooding.
Best Time to Visit
Sommieres feels hot during half of the year while cold during the other half. It is during the middle of the year when it is the hottest in town and there is also lesser chances of rain. These are between the months of June and August. But as these are summer months, you should expect a high volume of tourists visiting the town and Sommieres hotels to be less affordable. France Sommieres Festival Medieval is an ancient-themed festival celebrated in town every July.
