Situated 16 kilometers (10 miles) southeast of Yekaterinburg, Russia is Koltsovo International Airport, the largest in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Koltsovo. It serves the more than four million people who live in the area, as well as those in the nearby towns of Aramil, Sysert, and Polevskoy, and is a hub for Ural Airlines, RusLine, and AviaconZitotrans. SVX-Koltsovo International Airport has two runways: the asphalt-concrete 08L/26R which measures 3004х45 meters, and the cement-concrete 08R/26L at 3026х53 meters. It also has three terminals. The two-storey Terminal A, which was completed in 2007, is used exclusively for domestic flights. Check-in desks, baggage claim areas, currency exchange centers, and several coffee shops can be found on the ground floor, while restaurants, a children’s nursery room, and the new domestic business lounge which opened in 2013 are on the second floor. Terminal A originally had an area of 19,600 square meters and could accommodate a thousand people per hour. Upon completion of a new and larger international terminal on the 15th of June 2009, Terminal B, which had served international flights since its completion in 2005, was merged with the domestic Terminal A. With Terminal B’s total area of 15,400 square meters and capacity of 600 people per hour, this brought the total area of the combined terminals to 35,000 square meters and an hourly capacity of 1,600 passengers. The third terminal is the business or VIP terminal, located in SVX airport’s first terminal built in 1954. This is a paid access terminal that costs 8,500 rubles for one pass, and 250,000 rubles for a 12-month membership. The cities of Koltsovo, Asbest, Aramil, and Severka are all within a 30-minute ride from Koltsovo International Airport.
