The Kingsford Smith International Airport (SYD) is the main airport serving Sydney, Australia and functions as a primary and secondary hub for some of the country’s biggest airlines. It is located in the suburb of Mascot approximately 13 kilometers from the CBD. Also known as Sydney Airport, it is the busiest airport in Australia with over 42.6 million passengers passing through annually. It is also one of the world's longest running commercial airports having started in 1919 when Aviator Nigel Love established the airfield as a private enterprise.

SYD-Kingsford Smith International Airport operates three passenger terminals. Terminal 1 is known as the International Terminal with 25 gates served by aerobridges. The building has three levels, one each for arrivals, departures and airline offices. Terminal 2 has 16 parking bays with aerobridges and remote bays for regional aircraft. Terminal 3 is a domestic terminal. Currently, the airport flies directly to and from 46 domestic and 43 international destinations. Being near the suburbs of Zetland, Woollahra, Vaucluse, and Holroyd make the airport convenient to travelers coming from these areas.
