Taihape: Gumboot Capital of the World
Tailhape, New Zealand is the northern gateway to the district of Rangitikei, part of region of Ruapehu. It is known as the Gumboot Capital of the World.The most famous attraction for tourists is iconic giant gumboot sculpture made from iron and wire. Gumboot plays a huge part in both agricultural and horticultural economy of the region. One of the main features of the domain is the network of bush walks that surrounds the area. All year round, tourists are welcome in Taihape. However, for those who really want to join the event, the most famous is the Gumboot Day festival that is happening in March. Most of Taihape, New Zealand hotels are fully booked. A&P Agriculture Show is happening in January.

There are local adventure activities that can be done in Mt Stewart Reserve. One can also take a selfie in the iconic Taihape Gumboot. Another iconic structure in the area is the Taihape Town Hall.
