The best time to visit Tijara is during the months of November through February, for the perfect weather. The busiest months are usually June, August, and December. Tijara Jain Temple is one of the most famous attractions in the area. Founded in 1956, it is a Jain temple dedicated to Chandraprabha. Chandraprabhu, its main deity, is the present cosmic age’s eighth tirthankara. The main idol made of white stone is 15” tall. It has an inscription indicating that it was installed on the third day of Vishaka Shukla 1554. Another interesting attraction in the area is Sariska Tiger Reserve. It was originally given a wildlife reserve status in 1955. In 1978, it became part of India’s Project Tiger and received a tiger reserve status.
