HuangshanTunxi International Airport is a public facility that primarily serves the tourism community traveling to Mount Huangshan. It was originally built in 1958 in Tunxi, China, and has gone numerous upgrades over the years including the construction of a 2,600 meter runway. As of 2015, it has passengers of close to 600,000 while aircraft movements was 6,454.

Scheduled flights to the airport are being served by several airlines including Air China, EVA Air, Joy Air, Beijing Capital Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and others. Destinations often include Beijing, Guilin, Taipei, and Qingdao among others. It’s a simple commute from the airport to many of the most popular areas nearby such as Houwuping, Qinghefang Old Street, and Shaoshanzhuang. There are several commute options from the airport, allowing for a quick transfer for travelers. Qinghefang Old Street is particular popular as it boasts some of the most Instagram-worthy sites and excellent stores where tourists can get the full Chinese experience.

From the airport, tourists have quick and easy access to some of the best hotels in the area. One of the closest one is the GreenTree Inn Huangshan Bus Station which is only just 0.1 mile from the airport. There’s also the Gesanghua Hostel, which is just slightly further at 0.35 mile away. Just as popular is the Huangshan Pine Golf & Country Club, which is only almost 1 mile from the airport. You can also stay at the luxurious Country Garden Phoenix Hotel Huangshan.
