Tzaneen: A Basket of Hills
In the Limpopo Province, Tzaneen, South Africa is the second largest town situated in the valley of Magoebaskloof. The name of the town was derived from the word 'tsaneng' that means 'a gathering place' or 'a basket of hills'. The town is one of the most popular tourist centers in South Africa being a subtropical fruit area and a widescape of scenic views and routes. Its scenery is filled with various nature reserves, farms, and largely focuses in its cultivation in the agricultural sector. It includes the largest collection of pole carvings in the country and hundred year old pottery and artifacts. The Debengeni Falls is also a great destination when in the city because the hike to the falls gives a great experience for bird and avian species watching. The falls is also a great spot for picnics and swimming providing a majestic, untouched waterform.
