Caye Caulker Airport– CUK Caye Caulker, Belize
The Caye Caulker Airport (CUK) is an airport that serves the paradise island of Caye Caulker, 10 miles off the coast of Belize. After operations stopped in 2017 when 2 airlines flying the route suspended its service due to the dangerous condition of the runway, the airport opened in 2018 after undergoing a renovation that included asphalt pavement and runway lighting.
Best Time to Visit
On its reopening, CUK is now one of the most modern and safest aerodromes in Belize equipped with a longer and wider runway, asphalted with hot-mix and fitted with top-of-the-line lighting system. With these additions, the airport can now handle emergency flights to and from the island. It is one of the most active local airports, having facilitated about 92,000 passengers and 24,000 flights over a six-year period. The Belize City – Caye Caulker destination that CUK airport offers has been performing briskly since the reopening. The neighboring areas of Blanca Flor, Kohunlich and Chetumal in the state of Quintana Roo in Mexico are within easy reach from the airport.
