Jorvik Viking Centre, York, England, United Kingdom
The Jorvik Viking Centre is declared one of Britain's top tourist attractions in York, England, filled with lifelike mannequins and dioramas that show the life of the Vikings in the city. One great example of the diorama is the two fishermen working as part of the Time Warp Experience. The "Time Warp" experience is rather an educational representation of the past. Behind the Jorvik Viking Centre is a genius named Graham Ibbeson, who idealized to create lifelike mannequins through the use of facial construction technology. The center is also hosting an annual Viking Festival every second week of February. However, in 2015, the center was severely damaged by the North England flooding, but luckily, the museum reopened in April 2017.
To fully experience the York Town experience, it's also better to stay in the hotel that provides the same vibe. The Masons Arms Hotel features a traditional warm, oak-paneled pub with the room, free WiFi connection, free self-parking, and air-conditioned rooms. This hotel is also situated between two attractions called York Barbican Theatre and York Castle Museum. The York Barbican Theatre is an indoor entertainment venue where they hold various music events, community events, musical theater and plays, and family shows throughout the year. On the other hand, the York Castle Museum is an award-winning museum, which was used as prison cells in the 18th century. In 1938, this museum was recreated inspired by the late Victorian street, yet still retaining The Debtor's Prison, the Female Prison, and Raindale Mill buildings. The Hilton York and The Golden Fleece are also good options to consider.
