St. Nicholas Centre, Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom
St. Nicholas Centre is one of the two buildings of Bon Accord Centre, Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom’s second-largest shopping center complex. All in all Bon Accord has three floors jam-packed with favorite brands and local retailers. But originally, St. Nicholas Centre and Bon Accord Centre were two separate shopping sites. The former opened in 1985, while the latter in 1990. British Land, the owner of Bon Accord, purchased St. Nicholas in 2003, and so resulting in the merging of the two shopping establishments and naming the property Bon Accord St. Nicholas Shopping Centre. In late 2018, both centers went by the name Bon Accord.
Because of its relaxing environment and array of shops, St. Nicholas Centre, along with Bon Accord Centre, has formed one of the most crowded shopping areas in the city. Less than 10 minutes from the center is another interesting place, the Tolbooth Museum that was once a jail and is now a museum that tells the dark history of the building. Another beautiful spot close by is the Union Terrace Gardens, which is perfect for a leisurely walk and picnics. The Blairs Museum in Blairs is also worth a visit as it offers distinct insight into the Catholic history and heritage of Scotland. Found just 0.14 miles from the centre, the posh Carmelite and the Royal Athenaeum Suites are 2 of the closest hotels. These hotels are located in central Aberdeen, making them near the St. Nicholas Centre, and other nearby attractions, which make them the perfect hotels to stay.
