Gimpo International Airport – GMP - Gimpo Intl.
Gimpo International Airport, also known as Gimpo Airport is an airport that is located near the Han River in Seoul, South Korea. GMP-Gimpo Intl. was initially dedicated as Gimpo International Airport and is just a short five to ten-minute drive away from the central business district of West Seoul. The airport used to be the main international airport for Seoul before the biggest airport in the region, Incheon International Airport that was opened back in 2001, replaced the airport.
Best Time to Visit
The Gimpo International Airport had its major expansion and remodeling back in 2013. New gates and security points were added to the airport. A new terminal will be added to the airport to be able to keep up with the growing demands for domestic flights hosted in the airport. The airport currently has two passenger terminals and one cargo terminal. It has two runways, 3,600 meters and 3,200 meters in length. Top carriers currently operating in the airport include Eastar Air, Japan Airlines, Air Busan and All Nippon Airways. Buchoen, Muk-tong and Sangil-tong are some of the nearby cities/town from the GMP Airport.
